In the Wall Street Journal, Jarod Diamond takes a closer look at the Mets second-half stumble:

I realize this is about their poor record at Citi Field, but - let's be honest - they're not exactly tearing it up on the road either.

The thing is, what makes this whole second half so much worse is how well the Phillies have played. Why? Because the Phillies and Mets were both 10 under .500 a month ago, and today the Phillies are just four games back of the Wild Card... after trading away two starting outfielders and their fifth starting pitcher. In other words, the big run we all wished for the Mets now doesn't seem so unrealistic because the Phillies actually did it.
