Mets manager Mickey Callaway told reporters before Sunday's game that the team is weighing whether Seth Lugo is better off in the bullpen or the starting rotation.
The Mets could consider Lugo in the rotation when Anthony Swarzak returns from injury, but Lugo remains a key part of the bullpen as of now.
The 28-year-old Lugo is 1-0 with a 1.98 ERA in 16 relief appearances this season across 27.1 innings.
Lugo has not allowed a run in 13 consecutive innings dating back to May 1 and has 15 strikeouts during that timeframe. Lefties are hitting just .067 against him, which is the lowest in the majors.
Lugo made 18 starts for the Mets last season and went 7-5 with a 4.71 ERA.
