The Red Sox are the 2018 World Series champions, but it is never too early to start looking at the odds for next year.

Westgate Sportsbook in Las Vegas released its 2019 World Series odds shortly after Boston's Game 5 clinching victory on Sunday and the oddsmakers have the Mets right in the middle of the pack to win the World Series next year.

The Mets are listed at 30-to-1 odds to win the World Series and 15-to-1 odds to win the National League pennant.

It definitely could be better, although it could also be a lot worse, especially for a team that had the fifth-worst record in the National League this year.

However, oddsmakers are feeling a lot better about the rest of the NL East.

The Braves, who won the division this season, are favored at 12-to-1 odds to win the World Series while the Nationals are at 16-to-1 and Phillies are at 18-to-1.

The Miami Marlins are among some of the worst odds, though, at 200-to-1.

The Red Sox and Astros are both favored to win the World Series next year at 6-to-1 odds while the Dodgers are the NL favorites at 7-to-1 despite losing the World Series the last two seasons.

The Yankees are also 7-to-1 favorites.

With the Mets being right in the middle of the action and free agency still to come, they could go one of two ways. Much will depend on the direction expected new GM Brodie Van Wagenen takes the team this winter.
