Justin Wilson is back on the 10-day IL with the same left elbow soreness that put him there a couple weeks ago, according to multiple reports from Citi Field Saturday.
Wilson went on the IL on April 22 after feeling discomfort in his elbow. Everything seemed fine after his rehab, but in his most recent outing on May 6, he allowed two runs on three hits over one inning of work.
The 31-year-old, who signed a two-year, $10 million deal to be a much-needed lefty arm out of the bullpen this season, will hope to figure out the cause of the recurring soreness. The Mets have another lefty in Luis Avilan on the IL, which leaves Daniel Zamora as the only southpaw in the pen.
In 9.1 innings this season, Wilson owns a 4.82 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP.
