Mets OF Michael Conforto was out of the lineup in the final game of the first half due to a sore back, per The Post's Mike Puma.
Rather than try to push through the pain, the Mets and Conforto are smart to keep the 25-year-old on the bench today.
Conforto is enjoying a pretty solid season thus far. He owns a .244/.356/.470 slash line with 16 homers and 44 RBI over 80 games thus far. He is also on pace to break his career-high in extra-base hits, owning 33 already on the year. His best was 54 last season.
