Mets minor league infielder Jeff McNeil is drawing trade interest from other teams, reports Matt Ehalt of The Record.
McNeil is having a tremendous season and was recently promoted to Triple-A Las Vegas, where he has four hits in 11 at-bats.
McNeil, 26, has hit off the bench and served in utility roles while working his way up the Mets' farm system beginning in 2013. He has been impacted by injuries in recent years, but got off to a hot start to his 2018 campaign when he hit .327 in 57 games with Double-A Binghamton.
McNeil built muscle and improved his swing during the off-season, leading to his success early on this season. He hit 14 home runs with Binghamton before he was called up to Triple-A.
Between Binghamton and Las Vegas, McNeil is hitting .329 with 17 doubles, three triples, 14 homers, and 43 RBI this season.
On Monday night, McNeil had three hits, a double, and two RBI in his third game with Las Vegas.
