Now Commenting On:

Mets Double-A reliever Jeff Walters led his league with 38 saves in 2013, while striking out 9.6 batters per nine innings with a 2.09 ERA.

Walters, Jack Leathersich, Hansel Robles and Rafael Montero, plus Jeurys Familia, give this franchise some interesting arms to lean on in the bullpen. Walters, specifically, has been groomed for the bullpen, having pitched four years in college and now dominating in Double-A. He'll stand a shot at the big-league pen next year, but more than likely will move to Triple-A and be part of the mid-season replacements.
