Ramirez, who MLB.com touts as a "true center fielder" and a "plus runner" has above average grades when it comes to all five tools -- hitting, hitting for power, running, fielding, and arm.
"The tall and large-framed teen already shows advanced hitting skills and knowledge of the strike zone," according to his MLB.com scouting report, which notes that the 16-year-old has shown flashes of emerging power. "He makes solid contact at the plate and is known for hitting line drives to all fields."
Notable international free agents the Mets have landed recently include Francisco Alvarez and Freddy Valdez, who were inked during the 2018 signing period, and rising prospect Ronny Mauricio, who was signed in 2017.
Amed Rosario is one of the Mets on the current roster who was signed as an international free agent, agreeing to a deal back in 2012.
