Jeurys Familia (blood clot in shoulder), who was originally scheduled to pitch on Tuesday, will begin a rehab assignment today with Low-A GCL Mets. Meanwhile, RHP Matt Harvey (scapula) will make his second rehab start today for the Brooklyn Cyclones. Noah Syndergaard (lat) threw from a mound for the first time since April and could soon begin his rehab assignment.
Lugo has been sidelined with a shoulder impingement, according to the Mets, but Newsday reported that Lugo's lingering elbow injury may be the cause of the shoulder issue.
The Mets signed RHP Neil Wagner to a mior league deal and traded cash to the Rangers for OF Travis Snider, who is expected to be promoted in September.
There has recently been more interest in OF Curtis Granderson, who the Nationals were reportedly scouting Monday at Yankee Stadium.
