Chris Paddack is going to be angry.
Mets first baseman Pete Alonso has won the National League Rookie of the Month award for June, the second time he has taken the honors this season.
Alonso also won in April, which angered Paddack and led to the two having a back-and-forth through the media when the Mets faced the Padres in San Diego in May.
While breaking the Mets' rookie record for home runs in a season, Alonso was on absolute fire in June, when he hit .307/.435/.653 with nine homers, eight doubles, 21 RBI, and 20 runs scored in 28 games (124 at-bats).
Overall, Alonso is hitting .275/.370/.621 with 28 homers in 85 games this season. He is on pace to finish with 53 homers, which would shatter the Mets' single-season record of 41, held by Todd Hundley and Carlos Beltran.
