MLB announced its monthly award winners for the month of July on Saturday and Seth Lugo took home the honors for NL Reliever of the Month.

You can't pitch much better than Lugo did last month, as the right-hander tossed 12.2 innings of scoreless ball. He allowed just five baserunners in that span (three hits, one walk, one hit batsman) and struck out 16 batters.

He also notched a save with a scoreless inning on July 26 against the Pirates.

Lugo is the second pitcher in franchise history to throw 12 or more innings of scoreless ball in a single month, joining Addison Reed in July 2016. He also struck out at least one batter in 10 straight appearances from July 5-28.

On the season, Lugo is 4-2 with a 2.73 ERA, striking out 69 batters in 52.2 innings.
