Spring Training commenced on Saturday throughout the league, but the Mets could still be in the market to add another outfielder.
Jon Heyman of MLB Network reported that the Mets are among possible destinations for free agent Denard Span.
Span, who turns 35 next week, hit .261/.341/.419 with 11 home runs and 58 RBI in 137 games last year with the Mariners and Rays.
Should the Mets add the outfielder, it would create a logjam that would likely force them to move Juan Lagares or Keon Broxton, the latter of whom they acquired in a trade this winter.
The Tigers, White Sox, Marlins and Indians are the other potential teams that could be in on Span.
