The Mets (77-72, 15.0 GB in NL East, 4.0 GB for second Wild Card) start a three-game series from Coors Field in Denver against the Colorado Rockies (65-85) Monday at 8:40 p.m. on SNY.
The Mets fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers Sunday night, 3-2, after Seth Lugo gave up an RBI single to Jedd Gyorko in the ninth inning. Pete Alonso, Jeff McNeil and Michael Conforto combined to go 0 for 25 together in the three-game series. Despite going hitless in 20 consecutive at-bats, Alonso (47) still has a shot at breaking Aaron Judge's rookie home run record (52) by the end of the season.

Who is starting for the Mets?
LHP Steven Matz (10-8, 3.84 ERA) is making his 28th start of the season and hasn't lost a game yet in September. Last time out, he pitched 6.0 scoreless innings, struck out seven batters and picked up the win last Wednesday. Matz's ERA now sits under 4.00 for the first time since June 14. He has seen a slight increase in his walk rate this month, though, having issued free passes to six batters over two games.
Who is starting for the Rockies?
RHP Antonio Senzatela (9-10, 6.87 ERA) picked up his first win since July 14 last Wednesday against the Cardinals. He allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks in six innings pitched. The outing helped break a string of four straight losses for the righty. He had a rough going in July and August, but has seemed to calm down in two outings this month.
The Mets and Rockies continue their three-game series Tuesday with RHP Marcus Stroman (8-13, 3.35 ERA) taking the mound against RHP Tim Melville (2-2, 5.16 ERA) at 8:40 p.m. on SNY.
