The Mets will be evaulating RHP Anthony Swarzak on Friday to see if he could return to the team from the DL, reports The Post's Mike Puma.
Swarzak recently pitched in a minor-league rehab game on Sept. 3, where he struck out two of the three batters he faced in a perfect inning.
The 32-year-old reliever has been out since Aug. 5 with right shoulder inflammation. Before hitting the DL, Swarzak was sharing closer duties and turned in four straight scoreless outings.
However, Swarzak has struggled over the span of the season that has seen more trips to the DL. Overall, he owns a 6.00 ERA/5.39 FIP in 21 innings (22 games) in his first year as a Met.
