For a team that has lost seven straight and 14 of their last 16, something has to change for the Mets. Mickey Callaway decided to revamp his lineup.
Against the Yankees on Saturday, the lineup card is different than it has been all season. Amed Rosario is leading off, Brandon Nimmo is hitting third and Michael Conforto is dropped to sixth.
In full: 1. Rosario (SS), 2. Todd Frazier (3B), 3. Nimmo (LF), 4. Asdrubal Cabrera (2B), 5. Jay Bruce (RF), 6. Conforto (CF), 7. Adrian Gonzalez (1B), 8. Kevin Plawecki (C), 9. Steven Matz (P).
Conforto and Bruce have struggled mightily this season. Conforto is hitting .223/.334/.371 with 7 HR and 16 RBI this season while Bruce is hitting .226/.301/.338 with just 3 HR and 15 RBI.
Rosario, meanwhile, hit .277/.289/.436 in June, raising his average on the season to .247.
The Mets will debut this new-look lineup against Domingo German and the Yankees at 7:15 p.m.
