The Mets signed RHP Buddy Carlyle, LHP Duane Below and infielder Marc Krauss to minor league contracts with invites to major league spring training. The team also signed LHP Andrew Barbosa to a minor league contract.

Carlyle, 37, was on the Mets Opening Day roster last year and went 1-0 with one save and a 5.63 ERA (five earned runs/8.0 innings) in 11 games before he was placed on the 15-Day Disabled List on May 14. He underwent arthroscopic right hip surgery on June 16 in Vail, CO. The 6-3, 210-pounder is 13-13 with one save in 150 games over his nine-year major league career with the Padres, Dodgers, Braves, Yankees and Mets.
Below, 30, was 4-3 with a 2.19 ERA (12 earned runs/49.1 innings) in 11 games, five starts with Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League in 2015. The 6-3, 220-pounder has gone 2-4 with a 4.27 ERA (37 earned runs/78.0 innings) in 43 major league games with the Tigers and Marlins from 2011-2013.
Krauss, 28, played in 27 major league games for three separate teams last year. He hit .141 (11-78) with three runs scored, three doubles, two home runs and eight RBI with the Angels, Rays and Tigers. The first baseman also batted .275 (67-244) with 12 doubles, five triples, four home runs and 38 RBI in 70 minor league games last season. Krauss has hit .188 (75-398) with 30 runs scored, 18 doubles, 12 home runs and 42 RBI in 146 major league games with the Astros, Rays, Angels and Tigers over parts of three seasons (2013-2015).
Barbosa, 28, will report to minor league camp. The 6-8, 230-pounder went 5-3 with a 3.42 ERA (18 earned runs/47.1 innings) in 19 games, six starts combined in 2015 for Mobile (A) of the Southern League and Mississippi (AA) of the Southern League. He was released by the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 23 and signed by Atlanta on July 10. In four minor league seasons, Barbosa is 26-19 with a 3.65 ERA (140 earned runs/345.2 innings) and 423 strikeouts in 80 games, 67 starts.
