Steven Matz struck out 11 batters in seven innings and Todd Frazier drove in the go-ahead run in the 11th inning to lead the Mets to a 2-1 win over the Giants on Saturday afternoon in San Francisco.

Things you should know about today's game...

1) With the Mets trailing 1-0 in the fifth, Tomas Nido plated Brandon Nimmo to account for New York's only run until Frazier's sacrifice fly in the 11th inning. Amed Rosario hit a two-out triple in the fifth inning and Wilmer Flores, Jay Bruce, Michael Conforto, and Austin Jackson also had hits for the Mets.

2) Matz used 93 pitches to toss seven innings of one-run ball, with his only mistake being Evan Longoria's solo home run in the fourth inning. Matz bounced back from Longoria's home run by striking out the next three batters to face him. He struck out three batters in his final inning of work.

3) Lugo registered two scoreless innings, while Jerry Blevins pitched a scoreless 10th and Robert Gsellman earned his save of the season after pitching a one-two-three 11th inning.
