With slightly more than 24 hours remaining until the trade deadline, here is the very latest on the Mets:

As we wrote Saturday, the tone has shifted on Zack Wheeler. He is in heavy demand, but other teams are valuing him based on his body of work, not his recent performance. The Mets remain open to trading him, but are far less likely to do so than they were a few days ago.
The interest in Devin Mesoraco is "not very heavy," according to one source, but the Mets are leaning towards moving him anyway. One argument for doing so is creating more at-bats for Kevin Plawecki, who they hope is still developing. The Yankees would be a fit for Mesoraco, but haven't engaged on him yet, according to a person who would know if they had.
The Yanks haven't asked on Jose Bautista yet, either. Bautista is drawing light interest around the league.
Wilmer Flores now seems more likely to stay. A week ago it was 50/50 that he would be moved. Now, it's looking like no more tears.

Overall, the Mets aren't expecting a dramatic day on Tuesday. This could change, as the three-headed front office is still discussing all kinds of potential deals and directions to take. But as of this moment, they are less inclined to blow up the team, and thinking more about contending next season.
