The Mets will look to avoid being swept in Milwaukee on Sunday with Jason Vargas taking the mound for the 2:10 p.m. first pitch.
It's been quite the up-and-down season for Brandon Nimmo. He's hitless in his last six games and is currently in the midst of an 0-for-22 skid since April 28, but is batting third Sunday. ... The Mets have scored three or fewer runs in their last four games and they've scored 26 runs over their last 10. The team is hitting .212 during that stretch. ... Pete Alonso hit his 10th homer Saturday tie up the game at 2 in the ninth. Eight of his homers have come in the seventh inning or later, which leads the Major Leagues. Alonso leads all rookies in home runs, RBI (27) and OPS (.994). ... Even against a right-handed pitcher, the Mets have Robinson Cano, Michael Conforto and Jeff McNeil (all lefties) on the bench after Saturday night's 18-inning marathon loss.

Who is starting for the Mets?
LHP Jason Vargas (1-1, 5.75 ERA), who has a 1.93 ERA over his last three starts. Length remains an issue for him, however -- he's completed five innings just twice this year. He is coming off his best start of the season, as he allowed one run on three hits with five strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings against the Reds on Tuesday.
Who is starting for the Brewers?
RHP Zach Davies (3-0, 1.38 ERA), who has been the Brewers best starter this year. He did not face the Mets when Milwaukee rolled through Citi Field last month and is 2-2 with a 5.76 ERA through six career starts against them.
The Mets continue their three-game road trip by heading to the West Coast to begin a three game series against the Padres on Monday. Jacob deGrom (2-3, 3.82 ERA) will look to build off seven shutout innings against rookie righty Chris Paddack (2-1, 1.91 ERA).
