Happy second week of 2018, Mets fans. I wish I had more to report, but things have been quiet both in terms of on the field news. I'm happy to sit here and ramble about my week, though, but none of you care about that. I do hope that you all have survived the below-freezing temperatures and the bomb cyclone (aka blizzard).
Now on to the Mets...
Josh Smoker showed much excitement over Travis d'Arnaud. It's rare to see excitement over TdA, so this was obviously important to note.
That's my catcher!!!- Josh Smoker (@Josh_Smoker) January 6, 2018
Despite being in California, Noah Syndergaard still has pitching as a priority.
But he also had time for this. Watch out for Syndergaard in the next blockbuster, "Snakes on a Thor."
He also then took to Twitter with the same photo, but this time, making myself and fellow Harry Potter fans quite excited. For the record, I am also House Slytherin, Noah. Meet you in the common room after the quidditch match?
Juan Lagares has bulked up, but it is unfortunate that he's not wearing parachute pants in this instagram (I know, I'm not the first one to make this joke, but great minds think alike!)
And I'll just leave this instagram and caption from Wilmer Flores here for you all to make your own interpretations of it.
Oh, and thanks to Newsday, we now know all details about Steven Matz's wedding, including the fact that both Brandon Nimmo and Jacob deGrom were groomsmen, and the fact that no one bought them the mini fridge they asked for from Target. So if you'd like to give the newlyweds a gift, here's your chance.
