Christian Yelich's season has come to an end.
In the top of the first inning of Tuesday's Brewers- Marlins game, Yelich fouled a pitch directly off of his right knee. He immediately went down in pain and was pulled from the game. Later, the Brewers announced that Yelich suffered a fractured right knee cap and will miss the remainder of the season.
The 2018 NL MVP was in the midst of another MVP-type season. Yelich was batting .330 on the season with a 1.102 OPS, 44 home runs and 97 RBI.
The Brewers are currently 1.5 games out of the second NL Wild Card spot, 2.0 games ahead of the Mets.
The Mets and Brewers will not play again during the regular season, but this is certainly a huge blow to the Brewers as they look to secure a playoff spot.
