The Cardinals and Marlins already share a facility. So, it would make a ton of sense for the Nationals to join the Mets in St. Lucie. A) It would defray costs, B) It's consistent competition for spring training and extended spring training, plus another minor league team. The buzz last spring had been that something like this would need to be announced by mid- to late-summer in order for logistics to be worked out for the following season.
In either case, I'd love to see all of these teams get closer together (in distance), to form a sort-of Florida version of what goes on Arizona for Spring Training, which looks like a lot of fun for fans.
