Now Commenting On:

The Mets will promote Triple-A LHP Dana Eveland for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

The Mets did not announce a corresponding move.

The team has played 28 innings the last two days. The bullpen is fairly taxed, Terry Collins explained late Saturday. Eveland will bring a fresh arm to the bullpen, much like Buddy Carlyle, who was promoted for the same reason after Friday's 14-inning game.

Eveland, 30, has not pitched in the big-league since 2012 in Baltimore.

He was 4-1 with a 3.91 ERA in 12 appearances this season in Triple-A.

Update: Prior to Sunday's game, the Mets selected the contract of LHP Dana Eveland from Las Vegas (AAA) and optioned Matt den Dekker to Las Vegas. Eveland will wear #61.
