The Mets are 10-0 this season when Jose Reyes, Asdrubal Cabrera and Yoenis Cespedes hit 1-2-3 in the batting order.
In fact, since their respective returns from the disabled list in August, Cespedes is batting .321 with five home runs in 15 games, Reyes is batting .308 with 18 runs scored in 22 games, and Cabrera is batting .418 with six home runs and 15 RBI in 17 games.
They've been a major, major part of this team's recent success, and - in addition to the winning - they are a big reason the team has been so much fun to watch during the last month.
Based on their social media, and interactions in the dugout, they've clearly become close friends, joking around with teammates, hanging out before and after games, doing high-five routines, goofing around on flights, and so on and so on. More importantly, their camaraderie and talent is having a real impact on the field - especially at the top of the lineup.
They've been a refreshing, fun revelation that I never envisioned at the start of the season, especially when slightly down on Cabrera this past winter and with Reyes suspended and with the Rockies to start the year. However, here they are smiling, hitting, running, dancing, making the game fun, and fueling the team's offense night after night. Thanks, guys!
