Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes (hip/heel) played seven innings in left field on Tuesday for the GCL Mets as he continued his rehab assignment.
He went 1-for-4 with a single and had one putout.
Cespedes had participated in game action Monday for the first time in over two months, and he made the most of it, hitting two homers, singling, and walked during seven plate appearances while making two putouts in the outfield.
Mickey Callaway said this past weekend that Cespedes may return as a DH for the team's series against the Yankees in the Bronx that begins on Friday.
The 32-year-old Cespedes played two rehab games with Binghamton in June before suffering a setback, with the Mets later classifying his health issue as chronic.
Cespedes is hitting .255/.316/.474 with eight home runs in 37 games this season.
