MetsBlog's Rob Brender talked with Granderson on Thursday at camp in St. Lucie.
In regards to what qualities he'll bring with him from the Yankees to the Mets, Granderson said:
"It's interesting, I go from being one of the younger guys on the team to being one of the older guys on the team. I hope I bring leadership, experience and the ability to be approached. You know, if guys have anything they want to talk about, whether it's on the field stuff or off the field stuff, 'Hey, come talk to me.' I'm one of those guys who is easy to get along with. ... I think, mostly, you lead by example. I'm a very visual guy, and guys see me with a smile on my face no matter what the situation is. I'm pretty easy going and just enjoy being at the ballpark. I spent the first couple of days here in St. Lucie just, sort of, measuring everybody. And everybody seems very loose and relaxed, energetic, but also focused."Granderson said he wants to see the Mets have a plan, execute it, out hustle the opposition and focus on winning games in the NL East.
