MetsBlog: Why do you feel you were so successful during the second half of last year?

Dillon Gee: "It's hard to put a finger on that. I didn't change a whole lot from the beginning of the season. The pitches were pretty much the same. I think I just attacked more. My mentality was different. I think that helped make me pitch better. I just got more aggressive in the strike zone threw more quality strikes."

MetsBlog: "What would like to improve on in 2014?"

Dillon Gee: "The start, obviously. My goal this year is to be consistent. I want to be the same guy in October as I was in April. My whole plan this off-season was to try and find the best way I could be ready for March 31."

MetsBlog: Does feel the need to be a mentor or advisor to the team's younger pitchers, like Zack Wheeler and Noah Syndergaard?

Dillon Gee: "I just try to lead by example. I tell them to get a process, get a routine that's good for you. Everybody is different. And, just learn from watching other people, like David, whose preparation makes him so good, and just be the same guy day in and day out."
