Now Commenting On:

The regular season wraps up for three of the Mets playoff bound affiliates, and the Cyclones start a playoff like series with Tri-City.

Kingsport will host game two against Greeneville at 7 tonight.

A: Greenville Drive (28-40) @ Savannah Sand Gnats (34-34) ListenMonday 12:00 ET - RHP Sergio Gomez (0-3, 3.80) vs. RHP Marcos Camarena (5-3, 3.42)

Marcos Camarena is auditioning for a playoff role after struggling in his last start (4 IP, 7 H, 8 R, 2 BB, 4 K) He had been solid as a reliever before moving into a starting role, allowing 15 hits and 2 walks over 18.2 IP in a relief role.

AA: New Hampshire FisherCats (67-72) @ Binghamton Mets (86-54) Listen-Alt AudioMonday 1:05 ET – RHP Marcus Stroman (8-5, 3.47) vs. LHP Mark Cohoon (9-4, 4.00)

Mark Cohoon had his last start shortened by rain, so he'll get a chance to wrap up the regular season. With an off day tomorrow, expect the integral relievers to get tune up outings.

AAA: Tucson Padres (76-67) @ Las Vegas 51s (81-62) ListenMonday 3:05 ET – LHP Arturo Lopez (1-0, 4.15) vs. RHP Daryl Thompson (2-0, 4.32)

Arturo Lopez pitched most of this year with Mexico City of the Mexican League. He made 13 starts there, and had pitched as a reliever with Tucson until five days ago when he went 3 IP as a starter. He has a history with the Padres, pitching in their system from 2005 until appearing in 4 big league games with them in 2009. He finished 2009 with Buffalo in the Mets system before moving on to pitching in his homeland. September AAA rosters get a little weird.

Daryl Thompson has not been with the 51s long but has picked up two wins in their stretch drive. The first came in relief, and five days ago he went 6 IP allowing 6 hits and 3 walks while striking out 6. With the playoffs starting Wednesday I would guess Wally Backman would like to get his haggard bullpen some extra rest today. The Mets signed Aaron Harang to a minor league deal and sent him to LasVegas.  A little more depth of starting pitching for the AAA postseason and a few late season starts for the Mets make this a useful pick up.

A-Sh: Brooklyn Cyclones (37-35) @ Tri-City ValleyCats (42-31) ListenMonday 5:00 ET – RHP Dawrin Frias (1-1, 4.79) vs. RHP Kyle Westwood (2-2. 0.96)

Dawrin Frias has struck out 53 and walked 11 over 41.1 IP for Brooklyn, and is holding batters to a .255 BA.

In his one start.  The Cyclones have lost three in a row and fallen 1.5 games behind Aberdeen.

Kyle Westwood limited the Cyclones to one unearned run on 4 hits and no walks five days ago.

After losing 2 of 3 to the Cyclones Tri-City was swept by Vermont and lost to Lowell Saturday to fall a half game behind Lowell in their division race.  They rebounded to beat Lowell last night and move back into first place by a half game.  Aberdeen will be hosting Lowell as these two division races are intertwined.
