The good: Fernando Martinez was 2-4, HR (2), RBI. He raises hit season totals to .283/.358/.433.

The good: Five St. Lucie Mets pitchers combined to give up zero earned runs. Darin Gorski, who came on to relieve the rehabbing Bobby Parnell, pitched 5 outstanding innings once again. Gorski (pictured) allowed 2 unearned runs on 3 hits while walking one and striking out eight. For the season Gorski is averaging 14.25 K/9 (38K/24 IP).
Toby talked to a scout who saw Gorski this season. The scout said Gorski was "sitting in the upper 80s and hit 90". Toby, who saw Gorski last year in Savannah, told me "that NEVER happened last year". Toby says Gorski was in the mid 80s last year, so an increase in velocity is very encouraging.
Cesar Puello (1-5, 2 RBI) drove in the game winning run in the 10th with a single. Rafael Fernandez (3-4, 2B) was the lone St. Lucie hitter to collect more than one hit. Francisco Pena (1-4, HR(1), RBI) hit his 1st home run of the season.
The bad: Jefry Marte and Wilmer Flores each committed their 6th error of the season. Marte went 0-4, and is now 2 for his last 14 (.143).
The good: Gonzalez German was the star of the night. German (pictured) twirled seven shutout innings allowing only four hits, while walking two and striking out seven.
The bad: With an 0-4 night, Albert Cordero is now 2 for his last 37 (.054), and is now hitting .188/.205/.250 on the season.
