Now Commenting On:

If the Mets make any other noteworthy moves this off season, they will likely come by trade and not free agency (Martino).

Sandy Alderson said the Mets still have up to four issues to address on the current roster this winter (Brender).

The free-agent market is expensive and saturated with overvalued players. That said, the Mets have anywhere between $17 to 20 million left to spend this winter, according to reports. In order to fill the remaining holes on the roster, the front office will have to cut some payroll or off-set a new acquisition by trading a notable contract. This is partly why the Mets might be looking to move Daniel MurphyIke Davis and/or Lucas Duda, since they will earn a combined $7-11 million next season.
