Peter Gammons was a guest of Mike Francesa on WFAN today, and said:

“It started a couple of weeks ago, when Scott Boras approached the Mets and said, ‘Look, let’s put him on the disabled list, let’s get him down to Florida and work with Harvey Dorfman the sports psychologist, and see if that will help him,’ and the Mets declined.  Jeff Wilpon didn’t think it was an appropriate thing to do… and the Oliver kind of got his back up… eventually, Omar Minaya and Boras will work this out.”
