The way the rotation is set up, Noah Syndergaard is in line to start for the Mets in a potential NL Wild Card, Terry Collins told reporters Monday.
In two starts against the Giants this season, Syndergaard was 1-1 with a 2.61 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 13.2 innings. He was charged with two runs in six innings against the Cardinals.
Meanwhile, according to Collins, Bartolo Colon is in line to start Game 1 of the Division Series, if the Mets were to advance beyond the Wild Card round.
In two starts against the Cubs this season, Colon was tagged for eight runs in 10 innings.
