In his Grapefruit League debut, Mets RHP prospect Noah Syndergaard gave up one hit in two scoreless innings against the Braves in Orlando on Monday.

Syndergaard tossed 30 pitches and struck out two batters.

"I walked out there and heard the fans. That was an unbelievable feeling," Syndergaard said after his appearance (ESPN NY, Mar. 3). "Normally I'm pretty good at tuning outside influences off, but I definitely heard that one. I just heard a lot of cheering."

Syndergaard was recently named the league’s third-best right-handed pitching prospect on’s Top 100 Prospect List.

He is expected to begin the year in Triple-A, followed by a mid-season promotion, similar to Zack Wheeler and Matt Harvey before their debuts.
