Now Commenting On:

“I just chalk it up as a bad game.” – Kris Benson…

interesting…i tend to chalk it up as a loss

“I just lost focus throughout the game, continued to allow myself to lose focus.  Every pitch I need to get my mind into what I'm doing, instead of losing track of what my goal is.  I just need to find that little niche and get back into my momentum I had coming out of spring, and pitching the way I'm supposed to be pitching.  I came in with a good game plan and then I found myself out there just doing totally opposite of what I've been doing…Instead of realizing this is not the way I want to attack Corey Patterson and this is not the way I want to go after Jeromy Burnitz. I went about a couple of those hitters unlike I had in my whole career for some stupid reason.  That's the most frustrating part about tonight because I knew I was doing it.  I allowed myself to do it.” – Kris Benson…

funny how this never happens to greg maddux when he faces the mets

Typical Chicago night, where it was a little windy.” – Willie Randolph…

didn’t seem to help the mets, though, did it

“The (home runs) hurt.  Outside of that I was relatively pleased with [Benson’s] outing.” – Willie Randolph…

i love these kinds of comments…need i remind you they hit four home runs…even if he executed all of his pitches on balls that didn’t leave the yard, he still allowed four home runs…i get your point, but, willie, four home runs…

At least Kris Benson has his health.” – Steve Popper’s post-game lead in the Bergen Record…

nice, man…now when he tears a ligament next start, we know who to blame for the jinx…
