The Mets are not considering Bob Geren or Chip Hale as candidates for their managerial opening, reports Marc Carig of Newsday, citing sources.
Geren is now the Dodgers' bench coach following a stint with the Mets in the same role, while Hale, also a former Mets coach, is now the third base coach for the Athletics.
Robin Ventura and Brad Ausmus are also reportedly no longer in the picture for the Mets' manager position, either. Alex Cora was slated to interview with the Mets on Tuesday, while Manny Acta, Mickey Callaway, and Joe McEwing are also said to be interviewing this week.
