The Mets may explore a possible trade with the Pirates to acquire IF/OF Josh Harrison, reports Marc Carig of Newsday.
The Mets could utilize the winter meetings to discuss the trade, according to Carig. Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reported on Friday that Harrison could be available, and that the Pirates are "generally" willing to listen to any trade offers.
The Mets also have discussed trades with the Indians regarding Jason Kipnis and the Tigers regarding Ian Kinsler, according to reports.
In 128 games for the Pirates this past season, Harrison hit .272 with a career-high 16 home runs. He also had 47 RBIs and 12 stolen bases. He also drew a career-high 28 walks.
