The Mets will make it priority to impove their bullpen this off-season, sources told Matt Ehalt of NorthJersey.com.
The Mets already started traded for bullpen prospects during the season, but the team will likely look for another key piece ahead of the 2018 season.
Mets general manager Sandy Alderson told reporters on Wednesday that the team will "look at it" and that they are "still evaluating what we have."
"What I like now is we have a lot of candidates with some roster flexibility, options, so forth, that we can move up and down. Lots of people we can sort through with that cornerstone of three and then we'll look and see what's available in the offseason as well."
The bullpen's 4.84 ERA this season is the worst in the NL and second-worst in the league.
