Jose Reyes has been sued by Christina Sanchez -- a model and TV host -- for allegedly not providing enough child support for their 7-year-old daughter.
"We can sue for child support, but the law doesn't allow us to sue Reyes for not being a good parent to his child," Sanchez's lawyer, Steven Gildin, told the Daily News. "We are suing for financial support, but it would be nice if Christina's child did not have to grow up without a daddy."
Gildin added that Reyes is not paying the required 17 percent of his income in child support.
"We are confident that when all of the evidence comes out, it will show that our client has more than met his obligations," Reyes' lawyer, Eric S. Solotoff told the NY Post. "It is unfortunate that the other side has chosen to deal with this in this manner."
The Mets had no comment on the matter.
Reyes is married to Katherine Ramirez, who he has three daughters with. He was arrested in 2015 for assaulting Ramirez, but the charges were later dropped. Reyes eventually served a 52-game suspension due to the incident.
