Jose Reyes is the first Mets position player since Phil Linz in 1968 to open a season hitless in the first 20 at-bats of the season.
Reyes is 0-for-20. Linz went 0-for-25 before getting his first hit.
The 34-year-old Reyes opened up earlier this week about his early-season struggles.
"I'm kind of lost a little bit right now," he said. "This is my first time going through this. I used to play every single day, so I need to adjust to my new role ... I'll find a way."
Mets manager Mickey Callaway has said the team needs to get Reyes going, and that he has confidence Reyes will adjust to his new role.
