Robert Carson has a strained triceps tendon in his left arm and is considered day-to-day, according to MetsBlog's Michael Baron.

"It's a huge sigh of relief for me and for him," Terry Collins said.

Carson left last night's game after injuring his arm. He underwent an MRI today.

Carson has a 4.72 ERA in 17 relief appearances this season.

That's great news. Carson has made such great strides as the season's progressed - based on how things looked last night, I was very worried he had done some major damage to his arm. I would hope the Mets and Carson just call it a year, and let his arm settle down. There is no reason to risk structural damage to the tendon and/or the elbow with seven games left. He's shown enough to be a part of the bullpen equation in February and March.
