Two of the top pitching prospects in the NL east matchup against each other as Buffalo's season wraps up with three games in Lehigh Valley. Zach Wheeler likely finishes up his year with today's start, he comes into the game with 144 IP, up 29 from 115 IP last year. Pettibone defeated Buffalo on Aug 15th 7 IP, 1 R, 7 H, 1 BB, 6 K. and is making his seventh AAA start after a solid year at AA. He came into this season as the Phillies 4th best prospect (BA, best control) and is looking like a name to remember.
Armando Rodriguez has appeared in 32 games (3 starts) for the B-Mets this year, compiled a 3.33 ERA with 73 K's and 21 BB over 70.1 IP, allowing a .217 BAA. In his first year as a reliever he has maintained his 1K/IP and low hit rates. He will turn 25 over the winter, and with a strong spring and start at AAA he could put his name into the mix for bullpen help.
