The Brewers were looking to close the door in the top of the ninth, but the Mets weren't having it. It was Jose Bautista who came through with his first clutch moment as a Met -- a two-out RBI single to drive in Michael Conforto and tie the game at three apiece.
Michael Conforto launched his fifth homer on the year, a solo shot to right field off Brewers starter Junior Guerra to bring the Mets within one.
In the second game of a three-game set against the Brewers, Amed Rosario put the Mets on the board with an absolute bomb to center field in the top of the third inning.
That no-doubter measured 437 feet, according to Statcast. It was also Rosario's third homer in six games.
Brandon Nimmo may have seen his consecutive on-base streak end in the top of the first, but that didn't stop him from keeping Christian Yelich off the bases as well.
Nimmo showcased his range in left field as he tracked down Yelich's line drive, and made a spectacular diving catch.
