There is a "good chance" that the Mets see Seth Lugo back in their bullpen on Friday, per MLB.com's Anthony DiComo.
Lugo threw a bullpen in Los Angeles today, and said his right shoulder/biceps tendinitis felt "better than it has all year."
Lugo has been on the Injured List with that tendinitis since May 20. He noted feeling some soreness back on May 19 during his outing where he allowed a homer to Curtis Granderson. Having had tendinitis before, Lugo did suspect that he had it and tests confirmed that.
The Mets could certainly use him back in the pen, as he is pitching well with a 3.12 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over 26 innings of work. He also had 34 strikeouts to six walks on the year as well.
On Friday, a new series with the Diamondbacks begins, and Lugo's confidence to be ready is a good sign for the Mets.
