The Mets have question marks sprinkled throughout their starting rotation. With that in mind, should they consider a pursuit of free agent LHP CC Sabathia?
SNY's Nelson Figueroa said on Baseball Night In New York on Tuesday that being in the National League may be a detriment to Sabathia, since he would need to bat and run the bases.
However, Figueroa and The NY Daily News' John Harper agreed that Sabathia would be an asset in the Mets' clubhouse.
The 37-year-old Sabathia had a 3.69 ERA (4.49 FIP) and 1.27 WHIP while striking out 120 batters in 148 2/3 innings (27 starts) for the Yankees during the 2017 regular season. He allowed seven runs (five earned) in four postseason starts (19 innings).
In their annual free agent predictions, MLBTR has Sabathia signing a two-year deal worth $24 million to return to the Yankees.
