Now Commenting On:

John Sickels at has revised his Mets' Top 20 prospects to reflect the inclusion of Travis d'Arnaud and Noah Syndergaard who he places #1 and #3, with Zack Wheeler in between, just as I suggested over the weekend.

His list:

1. C Travis d'Arnaud

2. RHP Zack Wheeler

3. RHP Noah Syndergaard

4. INF Wilmer Flores

5. RHP Michael Fulmer

6. RHP Jeurys Familia

7. RHP Luis Mateo

8. OF Brandon Nimmo

9. SS Gavin Cecchini

10. RHP Rafael Montero

11. RHP Domingo Tapia

12. RHP Cory Mazzoni

13. RHP Jacob deGrom

14. C Kevin Plawecki

15. CF Matt den Decker

16. RF Cory Vaughn

17. RHP Logan Verrett

18. LHP Jack Leathersich

19. INF Danny Muno

20. SS Philip Evans

Generally speaking, Sickels places a lot of weight on success at double-A (Flores/Familia). However, he has clearly made an exception for RHP Luis Mateo who advanced no further than Brooklyn this past year. In terms of guys with similar profiles, I have Tapia over Mateo. I also have deGrom a little higher. The most glaring issue for me in the back half of the top 20 is the exclusion of Aderlin Rodriguez, who I have as ahead, and in some cases well-ahead, of seven or eight guys on that list.
