Tim Tebow has landed on the injured list at Triple-A Syracuse due to a left hand laceration.
The left-handed hitting outfielder cut his hand while fielding a ball on Sunday in Toledo. No exact timetable has been give as to when Tebow may return, though he's been placed on the seven-day IL.
According to Syracuse.com, Tebow received eight stitches in what Syracuse manager Tony DeFrancesco called "an awkward spot between his index finger, his ring finger and pinkie."
In 77 games with the Syracuse Mets this season, Tebow has hit just .163 with an OBP of .240. He's hit four home runs and walked 20 times, but his strikeout rate has been very high, punching out 98 times in 239 at-bats.
In his last 10 games, Tebow is hitting .178 (5-28) without a home run or RBI. He's struck out 11 times during that span.
