Now Commenting On:

David Wright is not on the disabled list, yet he's missed the last six games resting a sore rotator cuff, during which the Mets are 1-5.

“Obviously, we miss David,” Terry Collins said after losing to the Braves on Wednesday. “We miss David’s bat in the lineup. There’s no doubt."

Collins says the Mets expect Wright to return to the lineup Friday, when the team begins a 10-game homestand before the All Star break.

“We’re getting David back, so that is a boost,” Lucas Duda added (NY Post, July 3). “Losing him is a huge blow. Get him back and get on the right track.”

Wright had been mired in an 8-for-65 slump, during which the Mets were 7-10. He rebounded to hit .385 the next 10 games and the Mets went 5-5 before missing time with his sore shoulder.
