Now Commenting On:

After tonight's 7-3 win over the Brewers, Terry Collins talked to reporters and had the following to say about:

[sny-box color="fff"]

Jon Niese, who pitched six innings, let up two runs on six hits and struck out five:

"He's kept himself in great shape...You can see sometimes a little rust, but because of the six man rotation that extra day has helped him stay pretty strong. He's really pitched well for us."

Lucas Duda, who went two for four and had a solo home run:

"That's what we saw last year out of Lucas. We know what's in him...He changes the look of the batting order because everybody knows he can hit a home run. When he's swinging like he did tonight he's dangerous."

His thought process changing on double plays:

"That was one of the things we talked about last year. We needed to improve on getting double plays. There were lots of nights where we didn't turn a double play and end up not getting us out of an inning. One of the things that Teufel has done is he's got them closer to the bag on double play situations."[/sny-box]
