Now Commenting On:

After the Mets 7-3 loss to the Phillies, Terry Collins spoke to reporters and had the following to say about:

[sny-box color="fff"]

Jeremy Hefner and Dillon Gee's second starts drastically different from their first:

"Obviously they are both command guys. They live and die with the command of their pitches. Both guys were behind in the counts and that's not them. When those kind of guys get behind, they are going to get hurt."

Jordany Valdespin, who went three for five and does he warrant more time in back to back games in that lead off spot:

"We have a lefty Friday. That's a good chance to get Cowgill in there. Jordany got on tonight which is what we asked him to do. He got on base three times...Certainly we've got to try to get him in there a little more."

Lucas Duda, who went three for four with a double and two solo home runs:

"Well he's been swinging okay. The aggressiveness is getting a little bit better. He's not falling behind in deep counts. We've got to get him some help. John Buck continues to swing the bat good. We've got to get our big guys going here a little bit."

Daniel Murphy, who was doubled off second base before Valdespin scored in the fifth inning:

"I know he's trying to get himself to maybe score if the guy dives. You know we're down three, even though each run means something, he's got to see that ball on the ground."[/sny-box]
