Mets 1B Ike Davis is drawing strong interest from at least five teams, and the Mets are listening...
8:35 pm: The Astros are not a fit for Davis (Drellich).
5:50 pm: It looks fairly likely Davis will get traded this offseason since teams see him as a decent bet for power with a change of scenery, a team insider said (Rubin).
10:43 am: The Mets have not been presented with any specific trade proposals for Davis, although there's a lot of interest (Carig).
7:29 am: It's beginning to feel like Ike will be on another team, isn't it? And, if he is, you just know he's going to be the second-coming of Chris Davis, no doubt. I can handle that, if it helps make the Mets better at the same time.
I don't want Sandy Alderson to deal Ike just to deal him. I feel the same about Daniel Murphy. They're good players, but the Mets need better overall. And, if Ike (and Murphy) can help make that happen, be it here in Queens or part of a package in a trade for different players, so be it...
Nov. 7: The Mets are being very open minded about first base and are more likely to trade Davis, who has a surprising amount of value on the trade market (Cerrone).
Sept. 29: In September, ESPN talked to nine scouts, seven of which said they prefer Lucas Duda over Davis at first base (Rubin).
